Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will flag off the new buses purchased by the KSRTC (Karnataka Road Transport Corporation), intending to operate them as city service in districts, on Thursday.
The new 637 buses will be equipped with rearview cameras, panic button for drivers to use in case of emergency, CCTV cameras, ramp facility for the physically challenged, among others.
Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu, Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy will take part in the formal programme, to be held in front of Vidhana Soudha.
The chief minister will also lay a foundation stone for several development works, including the new bus terminal to be constructed at Kalasipalya at a cost of Rs 60 crore, BMTC’s new bus depot in Anjanapura and employees’ quarters at Gunjur.
