According to National Platform for the Rights of the Disabled honorary director Javed Abidi, the vigil was a success because persons with all kinds of disabilities from across the country converged at Jantar Mantar to express their anguish over the Bill not being passed in Parliament. They demanded that when the Parliament is reconvened to pass the vote on accounts, this extremely important piece of legislation must also be taken up by both houses for enactment.
