Here's a piece of good news for
students with disabilities but with a strong sense of conviction and
willingness to do something extraordinary. A state-of-the-art hostel has
been built for them with facilities like digital library, internet
facility, recreational activities and the career guidance, all free of
cost.

State-of-the-art hostel with digital library, internet facility, recreational activities and the career guidance, all free of cost gives the differently abled a place to further their careers in Pune.
The hostel is the brain child of Rahul Deshmukh, who himself is
visually challenged since birth and the founder director of The National
Association for the Welfare of Physically Challenged.
The hostel has been recently inaugurated on Kumthekar Road which can accommodate 100 students.
"Persistent Foundation has helped me to materialise the dream of constructing the hostel in the core of the city where students with disabilities can live and fulfill their dreams without any barriers and after three years of efforts, the hostel has finally opened," said Deshmukh.

He said that getting admission in the hostel will not be easy as the candidate will have to face an interview to test his will power and dedication towards.
"The hostel is built in a such manner that it will be disabled friendly. Ramps have been built all over the hostel," he added.
Manisha Tapaswi of Persistent Foundation said that when Deshmukh came to them with the proposal, an idea struck them and they decided to help with the monetary support.
Deshmukh said that he had come to Pune years ago however since he was visually impaired, he was thrown out of a hostel.
"It was then that I decided to do something for the people with disabilities and and started the The National Association for the Welfare of Physically Challenged, through which lives of several students with physical disabilities have been transformed," he said.
