Physically challenged join Kalasa-Banduri protest - Hubballi

Physically challenged persons, under the banner of Karnataka State Physically Challenged Federation, took out a rally in the city on Tuesday demanding early implementation of Kalasa-Banduri project.

Members of the federation shouted slogans against the government as the rally that began at the Nehru stadium went through the main thoroughfares of the city before culminating at the Channamma Circle. The protesters submitted a memorandum to the officials at the Mini Vidhana Soundha demanding that the chief minister should make arrangements to provide drinking water to people living in Kalasa-Banduri catchment areas. "Instead of diverting Mahadayi and resolving the drinking water crisis, governments at the state and the Centre are playing politics," they alleged. Office bearers of the federation K Subramanyam, S Krishnappa, J Devaraj, D Gurupadappa and others were present in the rally.

Basavaraj Devaru of Revanasiddheshwar Mutt, Mansoor, Rajanna Koravi, Siddu Teji, Veeranna Malagi, Mahesh Pattar, Babajan Mudhol and others were among the protesters.
