Body
of a physically challenged youth was found hanging on the railing of
Kakarmatta railway over bridge (ROB) under Manduadih police station on
Wednesday morning. According to reports, some passers-by noticed a body
hanging on ROB's railing and reported the matter to police immediately.
The police, upon reaching the incident site, pulled the body off the railing and found a mobile phone, marksheets and a copy of Ramayan with clothes and other articles in his backpack. The police checked his mobile phone and called on the last dialed number, which was his brother's, to ascertain his identity.
The deceased was identified as Pradeep Kumar Sharma (23) of Deoria district. During further investigation, it came to light that Pradeep had left home for Gorakhpur to appear in the SSC examination on April 6. On Monday, he reached Varanasi and it is alleged that he committed suicide on ROB. The motive behind committing suicide could not become clear as no suicide note was found. Police sent the body for postmortem.
