The
body of a physically challenged 30-year-old man was found hanging from a
tree under the limits of Nawabganj police station of Farrukhabad
district on Friday.
Police said Awdhesh Singh had gone to sleep at his neighbour's house on Thursday night. When he did not return in the morning family members tried to contact him on his mobile but found it to be switched off. In the morning, passers by found a body hanging from a tree in a field.
Police suspected that he was murdered and the body was hung from the tree. Cops did not rule out the possibility of suicide. "Prima facie it seems that Awdhesh died of suffocation. His neighbours found his body in the field of one Pappu," said a senior police official.
The official said as per preliminary investigation, it appeared that he was killed before being hanged.
"Police are investigating the case from all angles. We are awaiting his postmortem report to ascertain the exact cause of his death," the official said. The body was moved to the district hospital for postmortem.
