Nine physically challenged students crack matric boards : Ranchi

Nine physically challenged students’ cracked Matric Board exam-2013 conducted by Jharkhand Academic Council at Bokaro.


Aiming high, students of Asha-Lata Viklang Vikas Kendra’ prove their mettle; five (physically challenged) scored first division rank while four recorded second division marks in the examination.

The students who scored first division rank are Nistha Sharm (76%),  Krishana Kumari Dubey (72%), PAyal Pramanik (71%), Uttra Kumari and YAshmin (62%). Six of them are visually impaired; two are impaired with legs while one is deaf and dumb, school authority informed. CEO Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) Anutosh Maitra felicitated the students on Saturday. Asha-Lata Viklang Vikas Kendra’ popularly known as ‘Asha-Lata’— a school for disabled and under privileged children which was founded on 19th July 1999 by some retired employees of SAIL, Bokaro Steel Plant.  Asha-Lata is working for all categories of challenged children like Visually impaired, Hearing impaired, Orthopedically disabled, Intellectually challenged, Autism, Cerebral Palsy including Multiple disability. This school is providing education from Class I to class XII and after class XII with necessary help, support and guidance for their higher studies.
