Iranian Minister of Labor Ali Rabiei said on Friday that budget to support entrepreneurs with disabilities will increase this year (the current Iranian calendar year began on March 21, 2015), the Mehr news agency reported.
Rabiei who was making the remarks on the sidelines of the first Cultural and Sports Olympiad for the blind in the city of Mashhad added that there are different programs for the physically challenged on the agenda including their employment and sports.
Contrary to popular belief, the disabled have contributed a great deal to the society especially in sports, he added.
“We will do our best to improve working skills and employment conditions of the disabled” said the minister, adding that these kinds of support could assist the physically handicapped to be more active in the society.
The Ministry of Labor has currently 60 gymnasiums and pays particular attention to disabled athletes, he said.
