Docs’ selection taken out of HPSC purview


To expedite filling of vacant posts of medical officer, the Haryana Government today decided to make urgent recruitment by taking these posts out of the purview of the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC). The Cabinet met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar decided here today.
There are over 500 vacant posts of medical officer (HCMS-Group A).
The government has already been recruiting medical officers (Group B) through the departmental high-power selection committee since 2008. It was necessitated because it was felt that the process of recruitment of doctors through the HPSC was time-consuming. In the meantime, several doctors, who could be available for government health institutions, take up appointment elsewhere.
Birth, death rules

The Cabinet gave its ex-post facto approval to the amendment to the Haryana Registration of Births and Deaths Rules, 2002. The Registrar General, India, had directed to make necessary provision for the registration of children taken on adoption and to add the name of wife and husband in the death reporting form and death certificate. It was also directed to include the column of UID numbers in birth, death and still birth reporting forms in the births and deaths registration rules. The procedure for registration of births and deaths after one year has been elaborated upon to bring clarity.
Bonanza for Deaflympians


The Cabinet decided to include Deaflympics in its sports policy so that the medallists would be able to get cash rewards, jobs and other benefits. The Deaflympics (previously called the World Games for the Deaf and International Games for the Deaf) is an event sanctioned by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for deaf athletes.
Merger of posts

The Cabinet gave its approval for the merger of technical posts of constable except that of operator and technician of telecommunications wing into the general cadre in the Police Department.
Relief for prisoners

The Cabinet approved an amendment to Section 5A (2) of the Haryana Good Conduct Prisoners (Temporary Release) Amendment Act, 2014. Now, a hardcore prisoner, who has not been awarded death penalty, may be entitled to temporary release or furlough only after he has completed five years’ imprisonment after conviction.
Job for martyr’s kin

A government job was given to the dependent of martyr late Lt Satbir Singh of Thua village in Jind district. Lt Singh was killed in a terrorist attack in Manipur on March 18, 2009. He was unmarried. Therefore, his father, Man Singh, requested that his younger son Sandeep be given a job on compassionate grounds.

Service rules

The Cabinet approved the amendment to the service rules of the Haryana Services of Hydrologist and Geophysicist (Group B) Public Health Engineering Department, 2012. In the 2015 rules, the marks in the viva-voce have been reduced from 200 to 100 in compliance with an order of the Supreme Court.
