2 books launched on Blind People's Association annual day

On the occasion of Blind People's Association annual day event - Rangotsav - on Monday, two books charting its journey and different facets were launched at Tagore Hall. Over 250 students from BPA's all campuses participated in the event and showed their talent in various performing arts.

Bhushan Punani, executive secretary of BPA, said that annual day coincides with All India Flag Day for the Blind announced by National Association for the Blind. "It is one day when all students, volunteers and faculties from our campuses in Kutch, Surendranagar and Ahmedabad get together on one platform, celebrate it with joy and students showcase their prowess. However, this year, the event became more special with launch of two books," he said.

BPA officials said that while a book on Jagdish Patel charts BPA's journey, it is for the first time that the authors from outside the organization saw it from different perspective. While KK Verma, former director of Academy of Human Resources Development, has penned 'Saga of an Emerging Voluntary Organization in Gujarat', Shubhra Gaur, a professor with MICA, has written 'Charity to Parity: New Dimensions of NGO Management'.

The first book looks BPA from and HRD point of view whereas the second one delves upon organizational and managerial aspects.
