The
Karnataka Bala Vikas Academy has asked all state government departments
which haven't used up funds sanctioned by it for various projects to
return them.
Academy president Drakshaini Basavaraj told
reporters here on Thursday that a number of projects have been planned
for the year, such as a state-level convention of physically challenged
children, Pratibha Awards for children from slums and SSLC students, and
a parents and children's meet.
The academy also plans to organize a district Makkala Habba to help students from rural areas. The fund for the Habba has been increased from Rs 65,000 to Rs 1 lakh.
