Persons with disabilities are among the most marginalised section of the society, deprived of the basic facilities and rights.
The barriers put by the environment and the society deprives them from accessing their basic rights of education, livelihood and a life with dignity.
In the exclusive Job Fair planned on February 16, all the NGO partners , The Cheshire Disability Trust, The Samarthanam Trust, Association of people with Disability, Vocational Rehabilitation centre and Nasscom Foundation, have come forward jointly with institutes and employers to provide an equal opportunity to the persons with disability.
However, there is change in terms of ready acceptance and employability for people with disabilities in all sectors.
The one step forward is to bring in more organisations and employers to accept disability and individual skills, and give way to reasonable accommodation and work place solutions.
Technology has also made its mark in providing assistance to the persons with disabilities and this awareness is very important to understand and accept that they remove the barriers that come in the way of work performance.
A Disability Sensitisation session will be followed by the job fair, to bring together all SSLC/Dip/ graduates/engineers/post graduate candidates who are persons with disability and the employers from all sectors under a common platform to provide equal employment opportunities.
