Scholarships awarded to differently-abled students

The National Association for the Welfare of Physically Challenged (NAWPC) recently awarded scholarships to differently-abled students to enable them to continue with their education after higher secondary school.

Actor Shrirang Deshmukh, along with Sunil Mali, Associate Editor, Sakal, RT Shinde, Assistant Municipal Commissioner, Shrinivas Patil, former MP and BJ Deshmukh of the Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee handed over the scholarships to the students at a recent function.

Speaking on the occasion, Shrirang Deshmukh appreciated the efforts by Rahul Deshmukh, who worked hard to extend help to other differently-abled individuals despite being visually impaired himself.

Other students who overcame their physical challenge to successfully emerge as entrepreneurs, were also felicitated on the occasion. Dr Sulabha Hardikar extended a donation of Rs three lakh to the organisation.
