Telangana Finance Minister Eatala Rajender said their
government’s commitment and resolve are enough to mobilise funds and
implement the promised welfare schemes. “We strongly believe that where
there’s a will, there’s a way”,
In his reply to the
debate on welfare departments’ demands in the Assembly on Tuesday, Mr.
Rajender said the remarks of Opposition parties had hurt him as they
came at the very beginning of their sincere attempt towards fulfilling
promises. “You can question us if we don’t do anything after giving us
sometime,” the Minister said, adding that they would have fear of losing
power only when they distance away from people’s welfare and fail to
keep the given word.
Explaining the beginning made by the government in the implementation of welfare schemes for SCs, STs, BCs, physically challenged, minorities and women, the Minister said the allocations made in the past were nowhere near the provisions made by them.
Earlier, MLAs Sunnam Rajaiah (CPI-M), Payam Venkateswarlu (YSR Congress), T. Jeevan Reddy and S.A. Sampath Kumar (Congress), Akbaruddin Owaisi (MIM), K. Laxman (BJP), S. Venkata Veeriah and R. Krishnaiah (TDP) and R. Balkishen and V. Srinivas Goud (TRS) raised several issues seeking clarifications and made suggestions on the implementation of welfare schemes.
