Fifteen differently-abled people, who had completed a vocational training programme at Cheshire Homes India, got a chance to meet quadriplegic wheelchair tennis player Harry Boniface Prabhu on Tuesday.
At their graduation ceremony, the Padma Shri awardee handed out certificates to the students who have already started working with companies in the corporate sector.

“They have displayed a true ‘Toofani’ spirit and done exceptionally well for themselves in their respective areas of interest,” said Mr. Prabhu.

“I can empathise with them as I have myself overcome a physical disability to become a tennis player. This initiative is a great opportunity for people with disabilities to move forward and strive towards realising their full potential,” he said.

The event was hosted by the Thums Up, Being Human-The Salman Khan Foundation, and the American India Foundation, for the graduating students, who are also called “veers” because of their bravery.
