Paralympic silver medalist HN Girisha may not be able to fulfil his dream of getting an officer's job in Sports Authority of India
(SAI) any time soon as the government is yet to issue an order equating
paralympians with Olympians for the Group B post in SAI.
"At the moment it is not possible to recruit medal winners in Paralympics in SAI as we have not got any communication from the sports ministry on this. The government order mentioned only Olympians and that's why he (Girisha) didn't get an offer. Plus there are several other games like Dwarf Olympics, Deaf Olympics etc," sources in SAI told TOI.
There were practical difficulties in recruiting a disabled person as coach as he might not be do justice to the job, sources said.
