Siddappa Shivanur and Pooja Savanth emerged as winners
in the 14-km Hubballi Marathon-2015 in the Men’s and Women’s categories,
respectively.
In the marathon that covered the
thoroughfares of the city including the Kittur Chennamma Circle,
Sarvodaya Circle in Keshwapur and Gokul Road, both Siddappa and Pooja
finished their races far ahead of their competitors to take home Rs.
10,000 each.
Ramesh Patil and Nilamma Rathod won in
the Under-14 Boys and Girls categories respectively; P.D. Hunagund and
Bhavani Bhandari finished first in the Senior Citizen Men’s and Women’s
categories respectively; and Basavaraj Aihole bagged the first place in
the physically challenged category.
The second and third prize winners got Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 3,000 respectively.
Vice-Chancellor of KLE Technological University Ashok Shettar and other dignitaries gave away the prizes to the winners.
