“Death
is no more than passing from one room into another. But there's a
difference for me, you know. Because in that other room I shall be able
to see,” said the great Helen Keller once. Being blind is horrifying and
tragic but how often do we realize the value of our eyes? No, not every
time but maybe only when our eyes spot the visually handicapped.
While most of us today try to build and create technology to make our
lives easier, we seldom think about the people who really need
assistance to run their daily chores – the differently abled ones. But
to the world’s relief, we have talented and creative entrepreneurs in
our country who have been constantly striving for the betterment of such
people in the recent past. The ‘new-generation’ startups have observed
the potentiality of the niche and have innovated to a great extent by
inventing smartphones for the visually challenged, smart watches that
detect the emotions of autistic and devices to help the paralyzed ones
access internet.
