Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Taj
Mohi-ud-Din today announced a cash donation of Rs. One Lakh to Humanity
Welfare Organisation Bijbehara for infrastructure development of the
school run for differently abled children.
Minister who was Chief Guest on the
occasion of children’s sports festival organised for children with
special needs by the Humanity Welfare Organisation at Government Degree
College (Boys) Anantnag.
Speaking on the occasion the minister
said that these children are part and parcel of our societies and it is
our duty to provide them with equal rights and opportunities. He praised
the efforts of welfare society for working for the persons with
disabilities. Lauding role of the Chairman of the NGO Javaid
Ahmed Tak for his untiring efforts which brought up the NGO to this
level, the minister said that these type of sports festivals help to
boost the morale of CWSN besides their physical development.
A galaxy of sports events which included Cricket,
Tug of war, skipping and dance chairs were played before a huge
gathering of students and people from different walks of life. Teams
from a large number of schools across the valley participated in the
festival.
Minister distributed the trophies and
mementoes among the winner teams and also directed Director Youth
Service and Sports for providing all necessary infrastructure with
respect to sports material to the special school run by “NGO” Humanity
Welfare Organisation Bijbehara.
District Development Commissioner
Anantnag, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone, CEO Pahalgam Development Authority, Mr
N.H Wani and famous cricket player of the valley Parveiz Rasool were also present on the occasion.
