Kalyaan - Mumbai : Protest by workers in Mahavitran

Irked with the apathy of the authorities towards their demands, 125 employees of Mahavitaran staged a protest outside the Kalyan head office on Wednesday.

GR Patil, zonal secretary MSEB Worker Federation, said “Employment for kin of those who die on duty, medical insurance and monsoon kits are some of the demands that have not been addressed for years Besides, the officials also transferred a physically challenged assistant auditor from Kalyan Anil Gosavi, to Vasai. The decision is nothing but harassment.”

Bharat Pawar, public relations officer, Mahavitaran, Kalyan said, “The agitation is just to pressurise the management to get the transfer order cancelled Gosavi has been promoted to the Vasai office. Taking his handicap into account, he has been allotted a house in the office premises.”

According to the company policy, an employee cannot be working in one divisional office for more than five years. Gosav has been working in the Kalyan office since he joined. While he got promoted, there was no vacant post in the office that he could occupy, Pawar said.
