The next phase of pulse polio programme was launched here today with an
aim to immunise 24 lakh children of 0-5 age group in the national
capital.
Launching the programme, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today administered polio drops to 50 children at her residence.

"The intensified pulse polio immunisation is being taken up as a precautionary measure keeping in view the migration of polio affected persons from different countries and other states," she said.
The government has set up 8,200 booths in the city, with 9,400 teams of medical and para-medical personnel to administer polio drops to around 24 lakh children of 0-5 age group across Delhi.
