UNESCO and Kuwait conclude agreement on inclusive education for persons with disabilities

On 4 December 2013, UNESCO and Kuwait signed an agreement  relating to the establishment of a Center of excellence for persons with disabilities in Kuwait. The project is one of several initiatives foreseen under a broader Framework Agreement with Kuwait signed on 20 November 2013.

The project seeks to build  institutional and technical capacity at national level in delivering inclusive education for persons with disabilities, and will  ultimately contribute to the attainment of the Education for All (EFA) goals and the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).  These objectives will be met through the establishment of  a Centre of Excellence concerned with assuring high quality education for persons with disabilities; building partnerships and strengthening the international knowledge base on inclusive education for persons with disabilities. Under the agreement technical support will also be provided at national level for data collection and analysis of the educational contexts of persons with disabilities.
