A 17-year-old physically-challenged girl was raped allegedly by her neighbour in Falaknuma on April 19.
Police arrested the 30-year-old culprit and remanded him to judicial custody on Monday.
On April 19, when the victim, who is suffering from polio, was alone at home, Mohammed Sharif, a daily-wager from the same locality, sneaked inside the house and raped her, Falaknuma inspector M Hussaini Naidu said.
The girl's family lodged a complaint with the police on the same day who registered a case under section 376 (Rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) after sending the victim for a medical examination.
The culprit was arrested on Sunday night from his house and remanded in judicial custody on Monday.
