Punjab government provides Rs 0.5 million aid to deaf student : PAKISTAN

Chairman Lahore Transport Company Khawaja Ahmad Hassaan gave a cheque of Rs 0.5 million to Syed Ali Haider as financial assistance who had achieved first position among deaf children in the Matric examination of Lahore Board. Talking to media here on Sunday, Hassaan said that special children are an important part of society and the government is taking revolutionary steps for providing them equal rights.


He said that Punjab government is providing a monthly stipend of Rs 800 to the girl and boy students along with provision of free education, uniform, shoes, transport and books to thousands of special children.


He said that special children are talented and they are not less than anyone else, special children are stars of the country and they will be encouraged and provided assistance at every level.


Punjab government is taking all out steps for making special children useful citizens of the society and is giving cash prizes to them along with normal talented children achieving prominent positions, he added.


He said that friendly environment will have to be provided to special children for removing their sense of deprivation. The government is taking speedy measures for higher education and jobs for the special children.


Mother of Syed Ali Haider thanked Punjab Chief Minister for providing financial assistance of five lakh rupees.
