4 blind school girls allege sexual abuse

et another case of sexual abuse came to light on Sunday when four visually challenged girls studying in a special school in Hanamkonda alleged molestation by the husband of the school's organiser. B Bhaskar, a government employee, has been taken into custody and a case under IPC sections 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 506 (criminal intimidation) has been registered against him. According to sources, Space Blind School organiser Shobha's husband Bhaskar had been misbehaving with the girl students of the residential school for the past six months. He used to approach the girls at night, use abusive language and forcefully touch their bodies despite their objections. Unable to bear the harassment, the girls complained to Shobha. But their pleas went in vain as she failed to rein in her husband.

Finally, the girls managed to inform their parents and said they wanted to go back home as they had been tolerating Bhaskar's advances for a long time. Later, with the help of their parents, they gave a written complaint to Hanamkonda police, based on which the cops took Bhaskar into custody.
Hanamkonda SHO G Venkateswara Babu visited the school and collected evidence. District superintendent of police T Sharathbabu and Warangal RDO R J Madhu also rushed to the school and conducted an inquiry. Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Balala Hakkula Sangham condemned the incident and demanded that the government prosecute Bhaskar under the newly passed anti-rape law.
