This physically challenged girl is making attempts to revive her life. As the first step, she has taken SSLC exam so she can land a job and support her family.
Rizwana Begum, 23, who lost both of her hands in an electrical accident, is writing exam as a private candidate in Mysore. She was 12 when the accident occurred, because of which she had to discontinue her studies.
Rizwana told TOI that she was playing at their under-construction house when she came in contact with a livewire through an iron road. Ever since, she was confined to her house in Mohammed Sait Block.
Her father Ahamed Khan and her brother are looking after their family by doing odd jobs. "Sitting idle at home won't help anyone. I want to support my family. I took the exam so I can do any job," she added. She is writing the exam with the help of her relative Yashin, as a scribe.
