Blind Football is similar to the popular futsal game and is a 5-a-side, and is adapted for athletes with visual impairments including blindness. The sport, governed by the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA), is played with modified FIFA rules. The field of play is smaller, and is surrounded by boards. Teams are reduced to five players, including the goalkeeper, per team. Teams may also use one guide, who is positioned off the field of play, to assist in directing players. The ball is equipped with a noise-making device to allow players to locate it by sound. Matches consist of two 25-minute halves, with a ten-minute break at half-time.

"In February 2013, when Indian national football team visited Cochin for a friendly match with Palestine, national captain Sunil Chettri, his colleagues Jewal raja and Nabbi played with SRVC's blind football team and national coach Wim Koverman had commented that Kerala's Team SRVC is a wonder and they will secure national championship without doubt. We almost reached there," he said.

The matches were played at the Blind Relief Association grounds, near Oberoi hotel, Nizammudin flyover, New Delhi between May 13-18.
