Physically handicapped people now won't have to come to Vikas Bhawan to collect their pension
anymore as their money will be transferred in their account online. The
chief secretary has demanded their names, account numbers and the name
of their banks.
The number of physically handicapped
people in Devipatan division is around 46,000. Until now, they were they
were forced to visit the welfare office if the pension was stopped or a
new application had to be made. But now they can fill their forms
online or can go to any Lokvani center and their accounts would be made
online following the verification. The eligible person would have to
carry a physically handicapped certificate and identification proof.
Usually the pension is sent once in six months but sometimes due to
discrepancy in the account or name, they were not able to receive it on
time.
The in-charge of district physically handicapped officer Onkar Nath
Yadav says that the chief secretary has ordered that no eligible
physically handicapped person should come to the office. He said that
data of all the physically handicapped persons is being prepared.
The number of physically handicapped in Devipatan division is over 50,000 but the department of physically handicapped welfare does not have the record of actual number. They have the record of those only to whom the pension is paid while over 500 persons are given the certificate of physically handicapped by the health department on every Tuesday.
