Radha Nandi of Vaderatti village in Gokak taluk, a physically challenged student, has secured 91.52 per cent in the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination.

Radha, a student of Gokak Education Trust’s GES School, was born with deformed hands.
Though she has secured third position among 134 students in her school, her efforts were outstanding than all others. Though disabled, she wrote the whole examination by herself.
Her parents Lakshmi and Basavaraj Nandi were shocked when she was born, they never allowed her to get depressed and boosted her self-confidence.
Basavaraj died in an accident nine years ago, and Lakshmi was left alone to look after her daughter.
Lakshmi is an employee of a government school.
GES School principal R M Walikar and teacher S V Madhale said Radha was always an outstanding student and excelled in her academic works.
