Uttar Pradesh CM offers help to athletes with disabilities : UP

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today stressed on providing all necessary facilities to deaf-mute and visually impaired athletes in judo and other sporting events in the state.

Assuring to establish a judo academy in the state, the chief minister said that with a view to boost confidence and self-defense among girls and women, the proposal to impart training to them would be considered.

The chief minister gave this assurance to a delegation of Uttar Pradesh Judo Association and Indian Blinds and Para Judo Association led by its general secretary Munawar Anjhar who called on him at his official residence here.

The delegation was also accompanied by deaf-mute and visually impaired players who had taken part in the Aurangabad National Games and a tournament in Lucknow.

On the occasion, Anjhar said that a two-day national level judo championship would be held at the Saifai mahotsav in Etawah.

The chief minister met the players and wished them a bright future.
