Two women, including a "mentally retarded" girl, were allegedly raped in
two separate incidents under Alwal and Kushaiguda police station limits
here, police said today.
A 22-year-old mentally disabled girl was sexually assaulted by her neighbour one Nagaraju who took the victim to his house and committed the crime late last night while another man Narasimha later attempted to outrage her modesty even as the victim's family members who found the girl missing noticed her in the neighbourhood and rescued her, Alwal police said.
"A case has been registered and both Nagaraju and Narasimha were taken into custody," a police officer said.
In another incident, a 28-year-old woman, a daily labourer, was allegedly gangraped by three persons who took her on a bike on the pretext of offering work in a function hall and then took her in a open area near Balaji Nagar last night and raped her, an investigating officer attached to Kushaiguda police station said.
The woman later lodged a complaint alleging she was gangraped by three unknown persons who fled after commiting the offence, the police officer said.
